Shock IMU pairs a phone with a wireless IMU so race engineers and athletes can capture, categorize and compare motion data from bikes, motorcycles and skis, without a lab full of gear.
Context
Shock IMU turns a phone and a tiny wireless IMU sensor into a practical field tool for race engineers, athletes and equipment teams. Attach the sensor to a bicycle, motorcycle, ski setup or other equipment, capture motion data on site, and get insight without a lab.
We built it because athletes and teams across sports kept asking for a simple way to run IMU-based testing in the field.
What the app does
- Live capture: connect multiple wireless sensors, monitor motion in real time, start and stop recording in the field
- Flexible analysis: sensor signals, travel proxies and energy across vibration bands with configurable granularity
- Equipment testing: compare setups and runs to see how suspension, component or technique changes affect motion
- Export and compare: move data out for deeper analysis instead of trapping it in one session
Where it is going
Shock IMU is the capture layer of ShokIQ, a telemetry suite heading toward multimodal analysis: IMU signals, video, sound and other feeds aligned in one interface.
